The devil is in the details…….
Not all people who say they are SAPs are DOT qualified SAPs
•Have they passed an exam to qualify as an SAP?
•Are they up to date on CEUs (must have 12 hours every three years)?
•Are they using Return to Duty to build up caseloads? SAPS cannot refer to themselves as this is a conflict of interest.
•Are they listed are www.SAPlist.com?
•If they do not appear on SAPlist.com you should ask them to send you a copy of the certificate of SAP exam and certificates of up to date CEUs.
•Otherwise, if DOT does an audit you might be fined because the SAP performing Return to Duty was not qualified and invalidates the Return to Duty.
All my certificates are available upon request.
